Tesla Sells a Whopping 1.79 Million Cars in 2024

In 2024, Tesla experienced its first annual sales decline since 2011, delivering approximately 1.79 million vehicles globally, a meager 1.1% decrease from the 1.81 million sold in 2023.

While the decline could be attributed to several factors, including increased competition from manufacturers, a general slowdown in global demand for electric vehicles, and the reduction of government incentives in key markets would be the primary factor.

The Model 3 Performance is still an unbeatable value!

Despite the annual decline, Tesla achieved record deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2024, with 495,570 vehicles sold. The Model 3 and Model Y remained Tesla’s best-selling vehicles, while the Model X, Model S, and the newly introduced Cybertruck contributed to a smaller portion of sales.

Tesla’s “decline” is in no way a major “blow” as reported by others as Tesla still sold more EVs than legacy manufacturers and even surpassing BYD‘s figure of 1,789,226 cars sold.
